Meet Our Crew

Meesh and John are the couple behind Cedar Seas, each bringing a unique set of skills to the partnership. There is nothing that either one of them wants to do more than be out on Shambhala exploring the BC coast , and they cannot wait to have you join them.

  • Captain

    John grew up on and around the waters of the Salish Sea, and holds his Transport Canada 60gt commercial Captain’s ticket. He has extensive experience on these waters, on his own boats over the years as well as commercially in the whale watching, transportation, and research industries. He continues to work with Raincoast Conservation aboard their 20m research sloop Achiever, allowing him to pursue his passion for environmental conservation on the British Columbia coast. John has an additional background in the photography and film industry, having worked around the world with top level photographers. He is always happiest out on the water, and can’t wait to share his happy place with you!

  • Chef and First Mate

    Meesh has been working as a private chef for the past 9 years in a number of different capacities, from cooking for A-list celebrities in the film industry to cooking in remote wilderness retreats, and everything in between. She has cooked and sailed on many different vessels around the world, and never ceases to amaze with the meals she can prepare in a small galley on a 30 degree angle. She studied Holistic Nutrition in 2015 and always incorporates her knowledge of nourishing ingredients and specific dietary needs into her cooking. She’s immensely passionate about utilizing foods that are in-season and local, and has added foraging and growing/catching her own food to her repertoire in recent years. She is always happy to talk about her passions, and is excited to welcome you aboard.
